Sunetra Pawar officially takes charge today as the first woman Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, marking a historic moment in the State’s political landscape.
Ms. Pawar was chosen as leader of the NCP legislature party following the tragic death of her husband, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, in an air crash in Baramati on January 28. She was sworn in on January 31 at Lok Bhavan in Mumbai.
