Nepal’s Deadliest Rescue Challenge: Hundreds Trapped Beneath Mountains! | WION Originals

Published

on

Rescue teams in Nepal are facing enormous challenges as they race to locate hundreds of hydropower workers missing after catastrophic floods triggered by a glacial collapse near the Nepal-Tibet border. Tunnel entrances have been buried under mud and debris, while roads and bridges needed to transport heavy rescue equipment have been destroyed. With more than 900 dead and over 4,000 people still missing, rescuers are using cameras, air shafts and drilling operations to assess conditions underground. The operation has become one of the most complex disaster-response efforts in Nepal’s history.
