World’s Largest Electric Ferry Unveiled in Uruguay | WION Shorts

The China Zorrilla, the world’s largest battery-electric ferry, has arrived in Uruguay after its journey from Tasmania, Australia. Built by Incat for operator Buquebus, the 130-metre catamaran carries 2,100 passengers and 225 vehicles, powered by over 5,000 lithium-ion batteries and eight electric motors. It’ll soon connect Buenos Aires and Colonia del Sacramento across the Río de la Plata in about 90 minutes, running entirely on electric power with zero direct emissions.
