Russia is turning to Banderol, a low-cost drone-missile hybrid, to intensify attacks on Ukraine. Also known as the S8000, the weapon combines a cruise-missile profile with a jet-powered drone and can reportedly travel at up to 600 km per hour.

With a range of around 500 km and an estimated cost of $50,000–$150,000, Banderol is far cheaper than Russia’s more expensive cruise missiles. Its growing use is putting additional pressure on Ukraine’s air-defence network as Kyiv struggles to conserve interceptor missiles.

According to the latest data from the World Gold Council (WGC), India’s overall gold demand dropped by 6% year-on-year to 131.4 tonnes for the April–June quarter as record-high prices and elevated import duties weighed heavily on retail buyers.
