Assam kills ancient 1935 law on Muslim marriages as it eyes on bringing in UCC | World DNA | WION
The 1935 Assam Muslim Marriage and Divorce Registration Act has been repealed by the BJP government led by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. The Chief Minister presided over the state cabinet meeting on Friday, during which the decision was made.

Flydubai Horror: Accused Co-Pilot Identified; Past Oman Air Warning Raises Questions | WION Shorts
The co-pilot accused of attacking Indian pilot Captain Smit Machchhar during a Dubai-Tel Aviv flight has been identified as Omani national Hamam Alhamami.
Reports say Alhamami had previously been barred from flying in Oman after security concerns emerged over alleged extremist views. He was later employed by flydubai and was serving as co-pilot on the Tel Aviv-bound flight when the cockpit attack occurred.
The incident is now under investigation, with authorities examining the co-pilot’s background, the alleged attack and how he was cleared to fly commercially.

Russia is turning to Banderol, a low-cost drone-missile hybrid, to intensify attacks on Ukraine. Also known as the S8000, the weapon combines a cruise-missile profile with a jet-powered drone and can reportedly travel at up to 600 km per hour.
With a range of around 500 km and an estimated cost of $50,000–$150,000, Banderol is far cheaper than Russia’s more expensive cruise missiles. Its growing use is putting additional pressure on Ukraine’s air-defence network as Kyiv struggles to conserve interceptor missiles.
