   Hope you enjoyed today’s experiment. I just wanted to point out that some of these suggestions could work a lot better on SSS that are just drying out (opposed to ours that were completely dry rock solid). Thanks for all the suggestions 😊

   This makes me feel like if a purer silicone product was added (like silicone oil/lubricant) if it would work better.

   My dark secret – when I ran out of my MAC fix it, I refilled the bottle with NYX setting spray. Tbh I just preferred the spray size/pattern of the MAC bottle. Formula difference remains to be seen 👀

   Cyclopentasiloxane is the main ingredient in SSS, which partly acts like a solvent. Some primers contain that as a second ingredient etc. I happened to have HSI Argan Oil Leave In Treatment, the first ingredient of which is Cyclopentasiloxane. The HSI product also contains many of the same ingredients as the SSS, so I used a few drops and BAM, I have my shadows back! Will spot test first and avoid getting the resurrected shadow in my eyeballs, but I’m fairly certain everything will be fine. 😁 The ingredient list is fairly short, I only used a tiny amount and I use oils and other skin barriers before I put on eyeshadow anyway.

   Don’t know if anyone is going to see this as this is an old video, but a trick i learned from a local drag queen is to use silicobe lubricant, now don’t be nasty, buy a new one for this purpose only. I swear but this, two or three pumps and they preforme better than they did brand new!!

   This video is a great example that oil is only meant to break down makeup and not necessarily revive makeup. That’s why most long wear makeup says “Oil-Free”. I find that majority of my clients that don’t like traditional makeup removers tell me they use some type of oil to break down the makeup like coconut oil and olive oil. So this makes it clear. Thank you! ☺️

   This was so helpful and fun at the same time! I am sitting here with my 20 Super Shock Shadows, 4 of them very dried out or broken, but they're being rehabilitated with Inglot Duraline to my great happiness, because they're discontinued shades that I love. Thanks from the US!

    Came here to say…. I’ve played around and experimented with rehydrating my supershock shadows and I believe I have found a clear winner! Considering that the main ingredient in these shadows is dimethicone, I searched for a product that was heavy in dimethicone but not expensive. It’s a little weird… But it works. stay with me now… Monistat chafing relief powder gel. It’s about seven dollars for a hefty amount and it has a beautiful gel to powder formula that is heavy in dimethicone. I de-pot my supershock shadows and mix in just enough of the gel to get it to a loose Play-Doh consistency. I then repress and voilà! Almost as good as new 🙂 Happy experimenting!! ♥️

    for the price of them, you would think they would last longer. I have had other cream shadows and had to throw them out before the useby time. wish I had known of the Inglot one to rehydrate they 🙂

    I saw somewhere on google that eye drops or saline solution works and I tried both and it works pretty good

    I feel like a simple way to determine the best mixing agent would be to look at the original product's ingredients. From what I understand, super shock shadows are silicon-based, so the best "wetting" agent would also be silicon-based. Water would be terrible, in the short and long run.

    I think the colour changed for the Duraline test because it converted the brown matte colour base to liquid as well (as is its nature). The original fresh one looks like it has mainly a matte pigment base with some gold & silver pearl which works maybe like an overlay? So I think the colour deepened because every component got rehydrated, got combined and made that rich copper colour.

    Duraline is awesome. A must have IMO. Waterpoof and so versatile, yet gentle on the skin. I love it!
