   He is absolutely elite, and should have been recognized as such all the way back in 2016 when he won his third successive Europa League trophy with Sevilla. His subsequent managerial roles at PSG and Arsenal were more a case of wrong club at the wrong time. As soon as he returned to Spain with Villarreal they won the Europa League again and then reached the CL semi-finals the next season, and he is continuing that trend at Villa. Also bear in mind that Monchi, his partner-in-crime at Sevilla all those years ago, is reunited with him again, and that is a big reason why they have recruited so well. The sky is the limit for this great club.

   Of course there's the equally compelling argument that he just loves teams with the word 'villa' in them…

   Look at Emery substitutions in Arsenal game, they ensured the win. Artetas substitutions are reactionary. Goes to show you cant compare a world class manager in Unai Emery with a Novice like Arteta!

   Ive always wondered why Pep is always mentioned as a top manager/coach. He's only ever managed at the top level. How good would he be at a lower league club? Even Gerrard won a trophy with Rangers because the Scottish league is a two horse race! 🤔

   Emery suits an underdog type of club. Hes a top manager but even in Spain he managed sevilla and villareal not the 3 top teams in spain. I dont think arsenal was the right club for him. Villa suits him

    People didn't appreciate that he was elite when he beat Solskjaer in the Europa League final. But he was.
    He's gone from strength to strength, and United have got worse.

    I smile because Sky have these ex players filling minutes with their inane drivel. If they had any clue about the attributes a top manager has then they would be employed as managers. Man management and treating players with respect is No'1 and always will be! Then you buy quality players and have competition in as many positions as possible within a 25 man squad. It also helps if you happen to follow Gerrard

    Unai Emery is good coach, but similar to how Ancelotti can only manage huge teams, I think Emery can only manage semi-big teams. He isn't a great fit for massive clubs. It's also worth noting that despite being a good coach, he wasn't working at Arsenal… it just wasn't the right relationship. We needed something different, it wasn't just tactics we required, we needed a full rebuild and Unai was never going to remove the toxicity, get rid of Ozil Aubameyang etc and he wouldn't have gone for the players we brought in. The biggest difference between him and Arteta is their character. Emery accepted that he was just a coach and didn’t want to interfere in the club’s affairs. When Arteta arrived, his first message was that he wanted to change the mentality of the club. Coaches such as Jürgen Klopp, Pep Guardiola or Carlo Ancelotti are the best in the world not because they are the best at tactics, but because they can make an impact on a human level. They can rally players and a whole club to their side. Emery couldn’t do it at Arsenal.

    Villa have been fantastic. A bit like Liverpool they need to do better away from home. I suspect different tactics needed for away games.

    Sorry he can not be in the elite level. Yes he is a very very good manager and id have him 3rd in the prem but elite is the very very top.
    Managers who won leagues and champions league

    Aston villa are a rich club, owners more money than spurs and Liverpoolz

    There net spend the last 5 years is more than klopps…..

    Hes a very good manager and hope he keeps going but elite is winning champions league or leagues

    He was poor at arsenal and psg who are big clubs

    Arsenal would have already won the title if Emery was given more time. Arteta was given more time because he delivered a trophy very early but that wouldn't have been enough to be given time elsewhere. Especially at Chelsea or Man united. Of course his English wasn't as good either. He was slowly getting there. Language barrier 100% matters and that's one big reason why it didn't work out. I hope Emery turns down a lot of jobs and he stays at Villa long term and I hope he's delivered at least one trophy within the next 2 seasons

    Nah he ain’t elite till he wins something significant one game boys let’s hope villa who are running there asses off still have the same fitness with 10 games to go as that wat happened to arsenal last season only this season we are biding our time
