11 HABITS OF HIGHLY EFFECTIVE MANAGERS
MANAGEMENT HABIT #1 – Successful managers TAKE OWNERSHIP of all situations within their remit. There are NO EXCUSES! 01:32

MANAGEMENT HABIT #2 – They always SET HIGH STANDARDS from the get-go. This gives them a reputation as someone who will not settle for anything but the BEST. 02:14

MANAGEMENT HABIT #3 – They always LOOK TO IMPROVE, and they never think they have reached the pinnacle of their career. 03:16
JOCKO WILLING EXTREME OWNERSHIP BOOK:

MANAGEMENT HABIT #4 – They LISTEN more than they speak. 04:10
– Listening gives you time.
– Listening gives you options.
– Listening gives you knowledge!

MANAGEMENT HABIT #5 -They realize the importance of BUILDING A SUPPORT NETWORK around them. 04:53
– Great managers treat people with respect, and they command respect, too!
– Great managers will BUILD RELATIONSHIPS with team members, contractors, suppliers, and other managers so they have a solid support network when it’s needed!

MANAGEMENT HABIT #6 – Sometimes, they do NOTHING! 05:57
As managers, we think we must make decisions all the time! This is not true…

There is power in the words…
“Let’s wait and see what happens!”

Whenever something happens, ask yourself the question:
“Do I have to make a decision right now?”

MANAGEMENT HABIT #7 – They master the art of FILTERING. 07:06
Step 1: Draw up a list of things you need to do.
Step 2: Prioritize the most urgent and most important tasks.
The rest can wait.

MANAGEMENT HABIT #8 – They GET TO KNOW THEIR EMPLOYEES. 08:11
– They speak to their team members.
– They find out what their strengths and weaknesses are.
– They find out their career aspirations.
– They praise them.
– They provide honest feedback.

MANAGEMENT HABIT #9 – They seek FEEDBACK. 10:11
Highly effective managers are not afraid to ask for feedback.
Once they receive feedback, they decide which parts are useful!
Use feedback to your ADVANTAGE!

MANAGEMENT HABIT #10 – They make decisions BASED ON FACTS, not emotion. 11:03
– Many a poor decision is based on emotion, or ‘in the situation’ thinking!
– Take note of the FACTS, and then make your decision.

MANAGEMENT HABIT #11 – Great managers have someone to help them (a mentor!) 12:46
If you have someone more experienced than you to guide and help you, you will learn much faster!

I've been a manager for the last 8 years. From solo projects up to 17 employee facilities, I've recently accepted a general mangers position at a multi billion dollar international company and find myself watching and taking notes from everywhere possible to improve my capabilities and understanding. While most of this is pretty standard information I still find it helpful to write out in my own words and review the process. It's always good to remind yourself on the steps you're taking to improve and advance your skills.

On the other side of the coin, there are habits that make managers fail and these should be avoided: micromanagement, poor communication, failure to set clear expectations, avoiding conflicts, lack of feedback and recognition, resistance to change, neglecting employee development, taking credit – assigning blame,

Stop kidding yourselves, the only things management does is lie and manipulate. You're just a bunch of fakes guard dogging any good ideas or concerns so you can coast for 30 years. Anything new frightens you because you don't have any idea what you're doing in the first place. You just put on a front and people actually believe you.

NHS BAND 4 INTERVIEW QUESTIONS & ANSWERS | How to PREPARE for an NHS BAND 4 INTERVIEW! GET THE ANSWERS: https://passmyinterview.com/26-nhs-band-4-interview-questions-answers/ #nhsband4 #nhsjobs #nhscareers #nhsinterview
*** 🎯 DOWNLOAD 26 NHS BAND 4 INTERVIEW QUESTIONS & ANSWERS 🎯 ***

*** NHS BAND 4 INTERVIEW TIPS, QUESTIONS & ANSWERS ***
Q1. Tell me about yourself.
Q2. Why do you want to work for the NHS in this Band 4 role?
Q3. What are the NHS values, and how would you demonstrate them in your work?
Q4. Describe a time you dealt with a difficult or upset patient, relative, or member of the public.

4 TIPS FOR PREPARING FOR AN NHS BAND 4 INTERVIEW!
If you have an NHS Band 4 interview coming up, preparation is essential. Band 4 roles often involve increased responsibility, independent working, prioritisation, teamwork and maintaining high standards.

Here are 4 important tips to help you pass your NHS Band 4 interview.

TIP 1: STUDY THE JOB DESCRIPTION AND PERSON SPECIFICATION
Before your interview, carefully read the job description and person specification. These documents tell you exactly what the interview panel is looking for.

Highlight requirements relating to communication, teamwork, organisation, prioritisation, confidentiality, patient care and working under pressure.

For each important requirement, prepare an example that proves you have the necessary skills. NHS interview panels often score answers against predetermined criteria, so make sure your responses closely match the requirements of the role.

TIP 2: PREPARE EXAMPLES USING THE STAR METHOD

Many NHS Band 4 interview questions will ask you to provide examples of previous situations. You might be asked about working under pressure, dealing with a difficult person, prioritising tasks, teamwork or improving a service.

Structure your answers using the STAR method:

SITUATION – Briefly explain what happened.
TASK – Describe what you needed to achieve.
ACTION – Explain what you personally did.
RESULT – Finish with the positive outcome.

Spend most of your answer discussing the ACTION you took. This provides the panel with evidence of your capabilities.

TIP 3: LEARN THE NHS VALUES
Make sure you understand the NHS Constitution values: working together for patients, respect and dignity, commitment to quality of care, compassion, improving lives, and everyone counts.

Prepare examples of times you have demonstrated these values through your work or behaviour.

You should also research the NHS Trust or organisation you are applying to. Learn its specific values and priorities so you can give a convincing answer to the question, “Why do you want to work for the NHS?”

TIP 4: PREPARE FOR SCENARIO-BASED QUESTIONS
At Band 4 level, the panel will want evidence that you can use your judgement, take responsibility and respond appropriately to challenging situations.

You could be given scenarios involving an unhappy patient, conflicting priorities, confidentiality, safeguarding, a colleague making a mistake or an excessive workload.

A useful approach is:
Stay calm → Assess the situation → Prioritise safety → Follow NHS procedures → Communicate professionally → Escalate when necessary → Take action.

Band 4 employees should demonstrate initiative while also recognising when something needs to be escalated to a senior colleague or healthcare professional.

FINAL NHS BAND 4 INTERVIEW TIP
The key to passing an NHS Band 4 interview is providing evidence. Don’t simply say you are organised, professional or good under pressure – give examples that prove it.

Practise your answers aloud, prepare several strong STAR examples, understand the NHS values and demonstrate that you are a reliable, compassionate and professional person who will uphold the standards of the NHS.

HOW TO PASS A SITUATIONAL JUDGEMENT TEST!
If you have a Situational Judgement Test (SJT) coming up as part of a job application, assessment centre, or recruitment process, preparation is essential.

Situational Judgement Tests are designed to assess how you are likely to behave in realistic workplace situations. You will typically be given a scenario followed by several possible responses. You may then be asked to select the BEST and WORST actions, rank the responses from most to least effective, or choose what you are MOST and LEAST likely to do.

Here are my top tips for passing your Situational Judgement Test!

TIP 1: PUT THE ORGANISATION FIRST
When answering SJT questions, think like a responsible employee. The strongest answers usually protect the interests of the organisation, customers, colleagues, and wider team.

Avoid options based purely on what is easiest or most convenient for you.

Ask yourself:

“What would a professional, reliable employee do in this situation?”

That mindset will immediately improve your chances of choosing the correct answer.

TIP 2: FOLLOW RULES AND PROCEDURES
Situational Judgement Tests often assess whether you can follow workplace rules, policies, procedures, and safety requirements.

Never ignore a rule simply to save time or make life easier.

If a situation involves safety, security, confidentiality, safeguarding, money, or sensitive information, choose the response that follows the correct procedure.

TIP 3: TAKE RESPONSIBILITY
Employers want people who take ownership of problems.

Weak SJT answers often involve ignoring the situation, hoping somebody else deals with it, blaming another person, or pretending nothing has happened.

Instead, look for answers that demonstrate accountability, initiative, honesty, and professionalism.

** 🎯 Get access to 1000 SJT Practice Questions at: 🎯 **
https://www.how2become.com/free-situational-judgement-test-questions/

TIP 4: TRY TO RESOLVE PROBLEMS YOURSELF
A common mistake is assuming that you should immediately report every problem to your manager.

Managers want employees who can use their judgement and resolve straightforward issues independently.

For example, if you have a minor disagreement with a co-worker, the best response will often be to speak to them privately and professionally first.

However, serious issues involving safety, misconduct, harassment, security, or significant risk should be escalated appropriately.

TIP 5: COMMUNICATE PROFESSIONALLY
Many Situational Judgement Test questions assess communication and teamwork.

The strongest answers normally involve being calm, respectful, helpful, and professional.

Avoid responses that are confrontational, dismissive, emotional, rude, or likely to make the situation worse.

Even when somebody else is behaving unprofessionally, maintain your own standards.

TIP 6: PRIORITISE CORRECTLY
You may encounter SJT questions where you have several competing tasks.

Prioritise based on:

Urgency + Importance + Risk + Impact

Do not simply complete the task you prefer or the easiest one first.

If two important tasks genuinely cannot both be completed by the deadline, communicate early and seek guidance on priorities rather than staying silent and missing a deadline.

TIP 7: LOOK FOR THE “PROFESSIONAL” ANSWER
When you are unsure which response is best, look for the option demonstrating the strongest combination of:

Integrity – Responsibility – Teamwork – Communication – Customer Service – Safety – Professionalism

Equally, the WORST answers usually involve ignoring problems, breaking rules, dishonesty, unnecessary confrontation, poor communication, or putting personal convenience ahead of the organisation.

FINAL SITUATIONAL JUDGEMENT TEST TIP
Before your assessment, complete as many Situational Judgement Test practice questions and answers as possible.

Don’t just memorise the correct answers. Study WHY one response is better than another. Once you understand the behaviours employers are assessing, you will become much faster and more confident at identifying the strongest response.

Remember: think professionally, follow procedures, take responsibility, communicate effectively, and always consider the consequences of your actions.
