In my case, the employer have you go through a series of interviews ( 5 – 6) interviews, the first 3 interviews were great! a lot of interest and positive vibes from the interviewers, but the 4th one, the interviewer seemed very "stiff" cold" and with almost not a single face expression.. even from the very start of the interview. not sure why or if he wanted to do it that way on purpose, not sure what's going to happen as there are two more interviews to complete the process, and I'm afraid this last one could be definitive before continuing. any thoughts ?

The first sign you wont get the job is that you really need the job. A good hiring manager can smell desperation like a shark smells chum in the water.

I got an interview 3 weeks ago and even though it lasted 45 minutes, we had a good conversation, follow up questions, I got to ask questions at the end and felt it went overall well enough I still haven't got either an affirmative or negative answer even though they told me they would inform me within the next days. I'm thinking of sending an email and asking them openly since there are other positions that have opened up in the meantime that I'm interested of…🙄 Thank for the content. It really helps! ❤

This made me laugh. Had an interview a month ago. I show up 15 minutes early and they seat me in a room with the door open. After 15 minutes, I hear "Oh yeah. We have an interview. Is she still here?" I knew then I wasn't getting the job. Honestly, I wanted to excuse myself and leave and wish I had because what followed was the most embarrassing and underwhelming interview I've ever had. It lasted maybe 10 minutes. Interviewer didn't talk about the job; didn't have my resume and never looked at the one I provided; clearly rushed through all of my questions for her with abrupt, short quips; and didn't even make eye contact long enough for a decent handshake.

I've never witnessed such an unprofessional interview before. I wish they would have called and told me not to come in instead of wasting my time. I took off of work for this.

I consider it disrespectful when HR hiring employee calls for a phone interview 3-5 minutes after confirmed start time. If i showed up 3-5 min. late for an interview, HR would dismiss me.
Also, when you respond to HR the best phone number to call, cell or home phone; they call the opposite number. Happens everytime. This tells me the company and HR representative is not consistent.

When I was young and pretty I could quit one job and quickly get another one. Now that I’m not pretty n you g the pickings r slim. I just need to concentrate on growing my business. Need to be self employed I’m done with office politics I just want to do my job and not be bothered or harassed

I’ve had the manager tell me I did well on the interview but still still get the job. It means the job went to a friend or family member. Sooo sad. It’s brutal out there. If you are young and pretty you will get the job.

@careervidz I had an interview for an internal position. Instead of HR or Talent Acquisition, Talent Acquisition set the first interview up with the Hiring Manager. Hiring manager was very friendly. We both laughed and smiled. It went over by 7 extra minutes. The only thing that troubled me is she only asked me 3-4 questions and not a lot about my qualifications. She went in depth about the role and team, then said TA will get back to candidates next week , and potentially do second interview rounds. Thoughts ? Please advise what you make of this . Thank you!!!!!

Had an interview last week. Very chaotic, one of the people who I was supposed to meet was swapped for someone else with no communication. I did my best to get thru it but felt as if they hated me from the off. Death stares and one of the panel rudely checking her phone whilst I was talking. Needless to say, I was unsuccessful but think I dodged a bullet.

In my opinion, when you’re not hired, it’s not always about you—it’s about them.

All of us have special talents and skills. They just don’t need them at the time they met and spoke with you.

Eye contact is important. I was lucky enough to get a second chance when I was young. It was an opportunity with a company where I was already employed. I was interviewed by the deputy head of department when the department head was on leave. Later I found out that he thought i was disinterested because I kept looking out the window! I didn’t know I was even doing it but I put it down to nerves and lack of experience. I managed to get a second interview when the department head return from leave and made sure I didn’t make the same mistake….i got the job

I had a job interview today at a bank. It almost lasted 1.20 minutes. But I felt like they didn't ask my tough questions. Other than, tell me about yourself, what motivated me to apply for this job, and how I work in a team environment. Oh yeah they asked me, what would be challenging in this role or rather, how i could improve myself sth like that. But they went through in details about the job description and what they were looking for. They are basically looking for a proactive candidate who is up for the task. Which I told them in the beginning. they didn't ask about weakness or strengths, or how i have dealt a tough situation before.. But we talked all the way down to the reception. They will inform me next week. But still I am not sure, if I get the job or not.. As far as my answers, i believe i delivered a decent performance. Not excellent, but perfect, if I have to be critical.

In my previous job I had this kind of interaction and I did everything wrong, hiring manager also told me my qualifications are not good enough, and in the last round the hiring manager told me " do you have any questions for me " and I said no😂. But I still got hired, cause I was confident on my ability, and that might be reflected in the conversation, and to be honest i don't even need the job so I was not anxious "what if I don't get hired". After following your video , what I believe now I did everything not to get hired, and I also had a reference

What are your thoughts about age discrimination and how to handle that?

  36. @juskool100

    March 6, 2024 at 11:31 am

The interview went well, scheduled for an hour but only lasted 45 minutes however, I was only asked 3 questions regarding the role. That was a concern for me as the rest of the time was spent discussing experiences both professional (in the inndustry) and personal as it relates to traveling as the hiring manager lived abroad. Sure enough, a week later I was told they found a more suitable candidate. The sad part about going on job interviews is NOT getting any feedback so you do not know what you need to work on. That truly sucks!

By contrast, if you go for interview somewhere like a call center. You are the only person waiting to get interviewed, the panel feels very friendly and relaxed, if they accept answers (lots of notes etc) and they aren't relevant to the post (ie customer service), if the interview goes off topic almost like a casual conversation. You are probably going to get an offer but it's a job you wouldn't want to take ie call center. Hope this helps.

  43. @gerardsloan1593

    March 6, 2024 at 11:31 am

I haven't got to watch video yet. I have been to interview for graduate roles. The interview panel sabotaged my interview by interrupting me, being distracted which distracted me. They also reminded me of time constraints but wasted time at the end asking trivial questions. At another interview, the man on the panel was also like I described, the female on the panel didn't even get to speak lol because he dominated the interview. The interview was a mess. Could someone advise how to deal with rude interviewers?

HOW TO INTRODUCE YOURSELF IN A JOB INTERVIEW!
The hardest part of any job interview is right at the start when the hiring manager says to you: INTRODUCE YOURSELF! It’s the hardest part because you will be the most nervous at the beginning, and it’s always difficult to know what to say in your introduction.

But fear not, I am here to help you.

In this video, I will give you 4 great tips for introducing yourself, give you a simple 4-step structure for what you need to say and then give you the perfect answer to write down.

My name is Richard McMunn, and I have been a hiring manager and recruitment expert for more than 30 years – subscribe, give the video a like, and also tell me the name of the role you are being interviewed for in the comments below this video so I can give you some extra help.

4 POWERFUL TIPS FOR GIVING THE PERFECT JOB INTERVIEW INTRODUCTION 01:26
TIP 1 – Keep your interview introduction professional – do not talk about your family, relationship status, hobbies, or any personal issues.

TIP 2 – Keep your introduction to no longer than 60 seconds – that is all it needs to be. The interviewer wants a brief introduction before they ask you various questions to assess your suitability for the role.

TIP 3 – Make sure you practice your introduction several times before the interview. This is very important because the interviewer is assessing your communication skills – give a confident introduction and the rest of the interview will be a breeze!

TIP 4 – This is probably the best tip I can give you – talk about the following 4 things in your introduction:
SKILLS – Say that your skills match the job description and that you are a disciplined, responsive and accountable team player.
EXPERIENCE – Say that you have the experience to make a difference in the role – you have experience working on teams, problem-solving, and completing time-critical tasks.
ACHIEVEMENTS – Briefly talk about one or two achievements you have attained in your life so far. For example, winning Employee of the Month, achieving outstanding grades at college or helping your employer receive lots of 5-star reviews online.
TYPE OF PERSON YOU ARE – You can say that you are the type of person who always ensures your employer receives a great return from your salary.
