HOW TO ANSWER THE INTERVIEW QUESTION: TELL ME ABOUT YOURSELF! (Job Interview Tips 2024!)
Right at the very start of your job interview, the hiring manager will say to you: PLEASE TELL ME ABOUT YOURSELF! Your answer to this first interview question is very important. It is vital you give a confident response that shows the hiring manager you are a good communicator and someone who has the skills, qualities, and knowledge to perform your duties to a high standard.

4 THINGS you must include in your answer to the TELL ME ABOUT YOURSELF interview question.
#1. Say THANK YOU FOR THE OPPORTUNITY and that you have READ THE JOB DESCRIPTION. Saying thank you at the start of your answer demonstrates good manners, and referencing the job description shows you are fully prepared for what is expected of you in the job role.
#2. Is to quickly list the STRENGTHS you have that will ADD VALUE to their team in the position you have applied for. The top 4 strengths all hiring managers look for are:
• PROBLEM-SOLVING SKILLS;
• GOOD COMMUNICATION CAPABILITIES;
• BEING A SUPPORTIVE TEAM WORKER;
• TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR ONGOING DEVELOPMENT.
#3. Is to then say you are a HIGH ACHIEVER who has a track record of success before giving the hiring manager one example of an ACHIEVEMENT you have gained in your life so far. That achievement can come from your previous job or personal life. 6 good examples of achievements are:
• Delivering outstanding service to customers in a previous job.
• Helping your employer increase sales.
• Helping the company save money by being frugal with supplies and resources.
• Winning team sports events.
• Raising money for charity or volunteering.
• Suggesting new products and services a company can sell to its customers.
#4. The fourth and final thing to say in your answer to the interview question, tell me about yourself, is WHAT YOU WILL DO IN THE ROLE in the first 30 days of starting work. Your plan for the first 30 days of starting work tells the hiring manager you will instantly add value to the company and give them a great return on your salary!

To perform well on the Walmart Assessment Test, focus on giving clear, consistent answers that demonstrate excellent customer service, safety awareness, teamwork, reliability, and respect for company policies and procedures.
TIP 1. Give clear and decisive answers
For work-style questions, avoid appearing uncertain. Where appropriate, choose responses such as “Strongly Agree” or “Strongly Disagree” when they genuinely reflect the qualities Walmart is assessing.
TIP 2. Be consistent throughout the test
Similar questions may appear several times but be worded differently. Keep your answers consistent and demonstrate that you are a reliable, honest, flexible, hardworking, and customer-focused employee.
TIP 3. Put the customer first
In customer-service scenarios, choose responses that show you will acknowledge the customer quickly, listen carefully, remain professional, and take appropriate action to resolve their needs.
TIP 4. Prioritize safety and follow procedures
Never choose shortcuts that could compromise the safety of customers or coworkers. Correct answers demonstrate that you will follow procedures, identify hazards, and ask for guidance when necessary.
